Welcome to SeedLinked. Your privacy and the protection of your data are very important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how SeedLinked Co (“SeedLinked,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information about you when you use the SeedLinked platform, including our websites, mobile applications, and related services (the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these practices, you should not use the Platform.
We comply with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable U.S. state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA). We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected online through the Platform. It does not apply to information collected offline or by third parties that do not link to this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information from you:
- Account Information – When you create an account, register for trials, or otherwise engage with the Platform, we collect information such as your name, email address, and other contact details.
- Grower Profile and Trial Data – When you participate in a trial, we collect the data you provide, including ratings, reviews, agronomic notes, photos, and related information (“Trial Data”).
- Device and Usage Information – We collect information about the devices you use to access the Platform, such as IP address, browser type, operating system, and interaction data.
- Other Voluntary Information – If you communicate with us, subscribe to our newsletter, or provide feedback, we collect the information you choose to share.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Platform.
- Enable trial managers to evaluate trial results using the Trial Data you submit.
- Conduct analytics and generate aggregated, anonymized insights for research, product development, and decision-making.
- Communicate with you regarding updates, opportunities, and support.
- Ensure security, fraud prevention, and compliance with legal obligations.
Additional Data Sharing
We share personal data only with trusted service providers that help us operate the Platform, such as hosting, analytics, customer support, and communication tools. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to keep your information secure and to use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it. We do not sell or rent your personal data.
Trial Data Sharing
By participating in a trial, you acknowledge and agree that Trial Data you submit, including ratings, photos, comments, and agronomic notes, will be shared with the relevant trial manager(s). Trial managers are permitted to use this data to evaluate varieties and make agronomic, breeding, or research decisions. In addition, SeedLinked may aggregate and anonymize Trial Data for analytics, research, and to improve the Platform. Aggregate and anonymized data does not identify you personally.
Retention of Non-Trial Data
We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer required for these purposes, we securely delete or anonymize it.
Data Retention and Deletion
If you choose to delete your SeedLinked account, we will deactivate your profile and remove personally identifying information from our active systems, subject to the following exceptions:
- Trial Manager Data – Trial metadata such as titles, descriptions, varieties, and overall results contributed by trial managers will remain to preserve the scientific integrity of trial results.
- Grower Reviews – Reviews, ratings, photos, and comments will remain associated with trials and varieties but will be anonymized.
- Variety Contributions – Varieties contributed to the SeedLinked database will remain as part of the permanent variety catalog.
We retain these data on the basis of our legitimate interests in maintaining accuracy, completeness, and research value.
Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
We process your personal data only where we have a lawful basis, including consent, contract, legitimate interests, or legal obligation.
Data Storage and International Transfers
All personal data is stored and processed on secure servers located in Ireland (EU-West-1, Amazon Web Services). Where data must be accessed outside the EEA, including in the United States, we implement appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). For users located in the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we apply the UK Addendum or Swiss Addendum to the SCCs to ensure adequate protection for personal data transferred outside your country of residence.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to restrict or object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent by contacting us at legal@seedlinked.com.
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You also have the right to know the categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which we use it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it. If you receive promotional emails or newsletters from us, you may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the email or by contacting us directly. Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send you non-promotional messages related to your account or use of the Platform.

We use cookies and similar technologies to help the Platform function, measure usage, and improve performance.
